We are proud to be the recipient of our Parents Association’s generous annual funding for our Library. Our school LRC (Learning Resource Center) is automated with Destiny Library Manager - a library management solution that combines circulation, cataloging, searching, reporting and management in one library system that is centrally installed. Our catalog can be accessed through any workstation with a supported web browser either through the school intranet or via the Internet from home. It also integrates reading program information from the Accelerated Reader. Students can find whether our library owns books and AR tests on any of our collection. We have more than 8,000 titles in our collection. Our collection includes not only books but also audio books on tapes and Play Away – the latest audio digital books and a few educational videos. Our library is also a central place to access more than 120,000 Accelerated Reader Tests online. This latest Online Edition of the Accelerated Reader not only gives a wider choice of available tests for our students but also let parents view the progress of each student's reading level via the web-access. We have 5 computers in our LRC that students can use to search library materials and can take AR tests under the supervision of the librarian. Saint Vincent students from Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth grade each have one forty five minute library session each week. Click here to connect to the library website. |
